There are so many courses across a wide variety of marketing, sales, customer service, web development, and general business topics that it can be difficult to know where to begin.
We have narrowed the list of all HubSpot Academy courses down to our favorites. These are the certification courses we start with when we hire a new marketer or begin working with a client who wants to do some background research. These five certifications lay a solid foundation for a strategic, inbound approach to marketing and doing business online.
*Most of the courses included in HubSpot Academy use their software Hubs as examples when implementing the knowledge and tactics included in a lesson. While HubSpot's expertise is valuable regardless of what platform you're using, these courses can also provide good insight into working with their software and whether HubSpot is worth it for your business.
Inbound Certification
The Inbound certification teaches the fundamentals of marketing through the inbound methodology. In this certification, you learn the basic theory of inbound, from the flywheel for garnering continual growth within your business to buyer personas and creating a company purpose. This course takes just under two hours to complete and is a great starting point for those who are not familiar with the inbound process and want to gain a better understanding. HubSpot uses the inbound methodology in their business, and it's a cornerstone of their Academy. Inbound is particularly effective for digital marketing, where you're trying to catch and capture the attention of potential customers in a crowded digital space.
Inbound Marketing Certification
Inbound marketing, in comparison to the inbound certification, goes more in-depth about how you use the inbound methodology to specifically inform marketing campaigns and tactics. The Inbound Marketing certification is where you learn about call-to-actions, search engine optimization, and more. This course takes about four hours to complete and is good for marketers or other roles that work regularly with the marketing team to start learning how to apply the inbound methodology to tactics like email marketing, content creation, and defining your target audience.
Digital Marketing Certification
HubSpot's Digital Marketing course covers many of the digital platforms you might be using to capture lead attention online. It includes how website optimization plays a role in your digital success, building a digital strategy that actually works, and utilizing digital ads to drive traffic back to your website. The course is only four hours long, and it will leave you with a high-level understanding of how digital marketing and inbound methodology work together to attract an audience online.
Content Marketing Certification
Having a structured content marketing strategy is key to successful marketing growth. The Content Marketing certification teaches you not to underestimate the importance of content as a tool to build trust and establish your brand. The lessons cover how you can use content to tell your story, how to promote and analyze existing content, and how to create new content that is both useful and interesting to your audience. This certification takes about six hours to complete and inspires a new way of looking at the content you create across all digital channels.
SEO Certification
The SEO course in HubSpot Academy offers a deeper look into the details and tactics that impact how easily your website can be found online. Search engine optimization is a cornerstone of digital and inbound marketing and it's a topic that can be confusing if you're not familiar with the terminology.
