Blogging is a commitment. It's a tactic that takes a lot of time, effort, research, and a talent for writing. Because there are so many barriers, it's a tactic that is really only used effectively by larger brands, professional bloggers, and businesses with a successful writer on staff. Well, we're here to tell you that you CAN do it and it CAN result in new customers for your business. Writing blogs isn't easy, but committing to it will only help your business grow.

Blogging is one of those tactics that businesses typically get behind 100% or that completely falls off and gets forgotten about. Let's take a look at 5 reasons your business should be getting behind blogging and the statistics to back it up!

1. 434% more indexed pages [source]

Indexed pages is an important part of a successful search engine optimization (SEO) campaign. SEO will be a hot topic throughout this post, for good reason. Websites with an active blog average 434% more indexed pages than those that don't. In other words, being active with their blog has given them an advantage in search results than their competitors that don't blog.

2. 45% of marketers see the importance [source]

It's saying something when 45% of marketers agree that blogging is their #1 most important marketing tactic. It's actually a staggering statistic when you think about it. Blogging has so many uses and helps in so many ways (lead generation, lead nurturing, SEO, branding, etc.) that it's become the go-to marketing tactic for nearly 1/2 of marketers!

3. Could you use 67% more leads? [source]

HubSpot found that B2B companies that are consistently writing blogs receive 67% more leads than their competitors that don't blog. 67%! Just this statistic alone should have you opening a new Word document to start writing your first blog post. Blogging can establish you and your business as experts in your industry. Doing so will encourage your readers to want to work with you more and want to read more about what you have to say.

4. Inbound links through the roof [source]

Inbound links are another very important part of a successful SEO campaign and businesses with an active blog enjoy 97% more inbound links! It makes sense, the more quality content that you're producing, the more it will be found and referenced in other blog posts, social media posts, websites, etc.

5. Positive ROI [source]

Marketers that prioritize writing blogs were 13x more likely to enjoy positive ROI than those that didn't. Every business is worried about return on investment with every dollar that they spend on marketing and advertising. It's obvious that blogging will likely produce a positive ROI for nearly any business.

Still think writing blogs isn't worth your time or effort? Investing your time, resources, and knowledge into a solid blog can create amazing results and new customers for your business. It won't be easy or quick, but it will all be worth it. Check out some of our other posts about blogging for business for more tips and advice:
